Stamped with bell symbol & Sterling. Approximate era is 1969 when Bell Trading was transitioning to Sun Bell. Eagles represent connection, wisdom and freedom. I absolutely adore Native American sterling silver jewellery-not only is it beautifully crafted/designed and unusual, the jewellery also often has a deeper meaning behind it; a respect and celebration of life, nature, animals, deities and the human spirit. Native American sterling jewellery is mostly handcrafted using incredible silversmith skills passed down from generation to generation. The pieces can range from the delicate and intricate to the heavyweight and bold and can often incorporate colourful stones (particularly but not limited to turquoise and coral) and fine decorative carved detailing. Stamps on Native American sterling pieces vary a great deal, (particularly pre-1970s where no stamps is quite common) but they can include Sterling stamp only, Sterling & initial stamp and pictograph symbol/s etc. There are some great identifying Native American sterling stamps websites that provide some minimal information and images on the artists stamps/tribal affiliation/genuine & fake stamps etc. But many remain unknown, I do find this disappointing simply because it would be nice to give credit to which artisan has produced such amazing piece/s. I always consider myself very lucky when I can identify an artist as it can lead to finding out more about their history & tribal affiliation.
